Thank you to all those who came along to the 16th Commemoration on Sunday.
Yet again we were fortunate to have glorious weather… perhaps there is an atheist God.
We were pleased to be joined by Leicester Secular Society once again who brought their banner to adorn the celebration.
The CBS was made aware that a play has been written by one attendee with Bradlaugh as the main character which we look forward to seeing in production.
Garry Marlowe spoke about the Bust unveiling last November and the recent gathering at Bradlaugh’s resting place in Brookwood Cemetary.
Chris Pounds spoke about some recent visitors from India who donated a book on Bradlaugh, written by themselves, related to the difficulties of holding atheist weddings in India. We are most grateful to Hippu Salk Kristle Nathan and his family for this.
Chris also gave an update on the Save the Bradlaugh Hall petition and how the lettering on the plinth required some restorative work and he hoped the CBS would pursue this matter over the coming year to prevent further deterioration.
We look forward to seeing you all again next year.
